Welcome to the Sisu Sisters Podcast homepage!
We are Annukka, a LinkedIn™ coach based in Finland and Dorita, a business English coach based in the UK. Together we are the Sisu Sisters.
What is sisu? It is the famous Finnish word for ‘determination to succeed when all odds are stacked against you’ or ‘grit’ as we would say in English.
And ‘sisu’ is really what all our guests have in common, whether it is in their personal lives or successful careers.
Our guests are interesting people from all walks of life and an array of business sectors, people who you might not have heard of but who have extremely inspiring stories to tell or remarkable wisdom to share.
Our episodes will be in Finnish and English, depending on the podcast guest. The episodes in English can be easily identified by the red phone box thumbnails.

Hi I’m Dorita!
I’m a Finnish expat based in Kent by the river Thames. I’ve got over 25 years’ experience as marketing manager in a variety of sectors in the UK before I became a CELTA certified English teacher.
Nowadays I combine my two careers by teaching business English and working as a ‘Brittikuiskaaja’ (a British Whisperer)’.
As a British Whisperer I assist Finnish companies dealing with the UK and vice versa, explaining cultural and linguistic differences, ensuring that business deals and cooperation proceeds smoothly without unnecessary hiccups.
